IDEAS!
Okay, while we're waiting for a few more people to get over their self-consciousness and join our party, I figure this is a good idea to throw some ideas around.
FIRST OFF, I'm going to make an RP 101 type post, because I've had a few people talk to me about not being sure how to RP and needing some help, etc. That'll be up probably sometime tonight.
Now, the fun stuff.
I figure we can start things RP-wise by having a party post. Party posts are generally silly RPing that don't need to factor into any of the rest of the RP. It's just a way to let loose and also practice your character voice.
As for a sustained plot, there are a few ways we can go... If we end up with multiple players for certain characters, we may have more than one of these, but for now let's assume we'll just have the one cast.
- We can do a selective memory wipe of all the characters.
Downside: We'd lose some of the interesting development in the series.
Upside: Jay and Tim wouldn't be too afraid of Alex to ever interact with him, and we could develop things our own way while staying true to the characters and setting etc.
- We could start at a certain point in canon and go off in our own direction. For example, we could decide that the last canon point we're using is Entry #73, and we do our own thing from there. We can even incorporate future canon events if we decide to.
Downside: It'd be really hard to get certain characters to interact with each other.
Upside: We get to keep the development in the series up to that canon point.
- We could start at the beginning of the series (or earlier, during the filming of AK's Marble Hornets) and follow the progression of the series. I would post every so often that we're moving on to Entry #Whatever and we'd play off of the events that might happen around that entry.
Downside: We'd be pretty limited in what could happen to the characters, since we know where things are going (to a point).
Upside: It would keep the game structured and everyone wouldn't have to struggle to come up with a new plot idea, since the entries would do that for us.
WHICH ONE SOUNDS BEST? WHAT OTHER IDEAS DO YOU HAVE? As I said before, we could have two of these ideas running at once... We'd just label the posts accordingly so it wouldn't get confusing.
